Le Creux du Van, Neuchâtel

Creux du Van, Val-de-Travers. Neuchâtel. A walk through the forest. We took the train from Lausanne to Noraigue, with one change in Neuchâtel. We didn't know what to expect of this trip, we decided to go the same morning, hoping the weather was as good as forecast said. But... it wasn' like this. We arrived there and it was windy and cloudy, so we called the taxi of the town (there's only one) to go up to Creux du Van directly, in case there wasn't enough sun light to go up and down by walking.

creux du van noirague It's a natural rocky cirque of approximately 1,400 metres of width and 150 metres of depth on the north side of Le Soliat, Val de Travers, Neuchâtel. A very well known, amphitheatre-shaped natural attraction of the area, it is located at the heart of a nature reservation area of 15.5 km². We walked around the top, seeing a family of bouquetins, a kind of goat. And we took the path to go down on foot through the forest. It was really slidy beacause of the rain of the previous days and the leafs on the floor, so it was a bit dangerous. But it´s worth a visit.
