Le Baron Tavernier deck & restaurant, Lavaux

Le Deck, terrace Lavaux, Chexbres. One of our friends recommended the Deck bar as a nice place to have a drink with a great view of Lake Léman and the Alps. So last Sunday coming back from our  hike, we stop by to visit this absolutely gorgeous location!  Although we only had some coffees there, the menu at the terrace restaurant looked very tasty (and not so expensive).
 

Le Deck, gran terraza en Lavaux, Chexbres. Una amiga nos recomendó Le Deck, como bar agrdable para beber algo y disfrutar de las vistas del lago Leman y de los Alpes. Así que volviendo de una excursión que hicimos el domingo, aprovechamos para dejarnos caer por allí. Vaya localización para una terraza, increíble! Aunque sólo tomamos unos cafés, el menu en el restaurante de la terraza tenía muy buena pinta.

At the terrace-lounge there's an infinity pool which produces a nice effect over the lake, and every detail is well designed. The service was correct. Remember to book in advance! Especially in sunny days. For us it's the perfect place to take visitors who are not from the Lavaux region =) Thanks for being there!! See you next week!

 

En la terraza, según entramos, hay una piscina infinita que da un efecto precioso con el lago de fondo. Estamos deseando volver para probar la comidade Le Deck, seguro que de este verano no pasa! Es casi obligatorio reservar, en cuanto hace buen tiempo se llena. Es el sitio perfecto para llevar a la gente que viene a visitarnos. Muchas gracias por estar ahí una semana más!!

Terrasses de Lavaux, Vaud. To enjoy one of the last sunny days of the season, this Saturday we went walking with some friends through the vineyards of Lavaux region. It's a famous area located really close to Lausanne that includes more than a dozen villages from Lutry to Vevey, among them the lakeside district capital of Cully and hillside villages such as Grandvaux and Epesses. It's a beautiful path between the terraces of wineyards with an impressive view of Lake Leman and the Alps. All the vignoble de Lavaux is protected as Unesco World Heritage Site from 2007.

Terrazas de Lavaux, Vaud. Para disfrutar de los últimos días de sol y calor hemos ido este fin de semana a andar por los viñedos de la región de Lavaux. Es un área muy cercana a Lausana que engloba los pueblos entre Lutry y Vevey, incluyendo Cully, Epesses y Grandvaux. Es una ruta increíble entre las terrazas con vides y el lago Leman. Se aprovecha el espacio al máximo incluso, incluso las terrazas más pequeñas. Todo éste área está protegido como Patrimonio de la Unesco desde 2007.  

Before leaving from Lausanne, we stopped by our favourite Italian place, Mauro traitteur, close to Pont Bessières, to take focaccias for lunch . Our hiking started in Epesses, where the wineries where opened, because of the wine harvest; a special smell floated in the whole town due to the rests of the grape-juice. That created quite a unique atmosphere. A bit later in the path, there was a view point, prepared for picnics, so we ate there enjoying of the sun and the views. This time our Lavaux walk finished at Saint Saphorin!

Antes de salir de Lausana, cogimos unas focaccias de nuestro sitio italiano favorito, dónde las preparan para llevar, http://www.maurotraiteur.com/. Nuestra excursión empezó en Epesses, con las bodegas abiertas por la vendimia!, ese olor partícular de los restos del mosto invadía todo el pueblo, creando una atmósfera especial. Un poco más tarde, en un punto de observación, comimos disfrutando del sol y las vistas. Nuestra ruta terminó en St. Saphorin.

We had the chance to see some workers picking up the last grapes of the season. Like the vineyards are built on relatively small portions of contiguous land, sometimes with big slopes, much of the work is still done by hand.

Tuvimos la suerte de ver a varios trabajadores recolectando las últimas uvas de la temporada. Como las viñas están plantadas en pequeñas porciones de terreno, algunas veces con grandes pendientes, la mayoría del trabajo es hecho a mano.

Trains between Lausanne and Montreux stop at several points in the Lavaux, including Cully and Vevey. And there is also the Train des Vignes or Wine Train from Vevey to Chexbres for a pleasant excursion. For us this is the best part of Leman's lake shore, even better than the cities, and especially in Autumn, with the yellow and orange colours contrasting with the blue of the lake. Thanks for following us, see you next week!

Los trenes entre Lausana y Montreux tienen parada en varios puntos de Lavaux, incluyendo Cully y Vevey. Y existe también el tren panorámico de las viñas, desde Vevey hasta Chexbres, para un paseo tranquilo. Para nosotros esta es la parte más bonita de la costa del lago Leman, mejor incluso que las ciudades, y especialmente en otoño, con los ocres y amarillos contrastando con el azul del lago.
