Le Tramway restaurant, Lausanne. First of all, sorry for the pictures quality, that night we forgot our camera =( Before Christmas we had dinner with our friends at this restaurant, the Swiss family together. A friend of us had already gone and she recommended it to us. It's in a residential area with an entrance a bit hidden, it's two doors further than the big window of the dining room. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, like if you were in a house, there were only two big tables having dinner (ours and another one).

Antes de Navidad hicimos la ultima cena del año con nuestros amigos, la familia suiza. Elegimos un sitio que nos habia recomendado una amiga. El restaurante está en un área residencial, con una entrada un poco escondida, dos puertas más allá de la gran vitrina del comedor, parecía que entrábamos en una casa del vecindario. La atmósfera era muy casera, íntima, como si estuviesemos en el salón de una casa, solo había dos mesas (la nuestra y otra).

Food had a worked presentation and it was a good quality, but not in big quantities. We ordered some starters: foie, salmon,... and then the main course: dorade with vegetables, kangaroo,... Everything was delicious, and then a big variety of desserts. When we arrived to this moment two of our friends announced us a big step in their lifes, they're going to get married this year! Congratulations couple, we wish you all the best!

Los platos tenían una presentación trabajada, y eran de calidad, aunque no en grandes cantidades. Pedimos unos entrantes: foie, salmón,... y después el plato principal: dorada con verduras, canguro,... Todo estaba muy bueno, y había una gran variedad de postres. Cuando llegamos al final de la cena dos de nuestros amigos nos anunciaron un gran paso en sus vidas: ¡se casan este año! ¡felicidades pareja! Os deseamos lo mejor.

Restaurant Le Tsalè, Les Paccots

Le Tsalè restaurant, Les Paccots. Last weekend we've been to this restaurant on our way to Fribourg. Some friends gave us the recommendation, It's really well-known in the Suisse romande when you're talking about fondue. We tried to have dinner there once last winter, but without doing a reservation before, it was impossible, completely full, and they talked to us like if we were nuts for having gone without booking in advance! This time we phoned before going, It was last Saturday, a really sunny day, and we went at 14.00 h. an hour a bit strange for eating, so we didn't have any problem with the reservation (for dinner time they already had a table for 60 people!) 

Le Tsalè restaurante, Les Paccots, Fribourg. El pasado fin de semana fuimos a este restaurante en nuestro camino a Friburgo. Algunos amigos nos lo habían recomendado, así que nos presentamos allí un domingo el invierno pasado, pero estaba lleno. Nos dijeron que si estábamos locos por ir sin reservar! Esta vez llamamos antes de ir, reservamos a las 14:00, una hora algo extraña pero así no tuvimos problemas para la reserva, por la tarde noche ya estaba llena con una mesa para 60 personas!

This is an old picture of the building. They have conserved the same roof, made with wood, and the old farm. 

We were told about the fondue, so we tried it! We also ordered "croûte au frômage", and a typical sausage with vegetables. Everything was really good, the fondue was not salty, very soft, so we weren't disappointed. You should always cheese fondue with white wine! We were said if you do it with water it can makes your stomach hurt (for kids some tea)

Esta es una imagen antigua del restaurante. Ha conservado el mismo tejado, hecho de madera y toda la granja. Nos hablaron de la fondue, así que la probamos, además de "croûte au fromage" y una salchica típica con verduras. Todo estuvo realmente bueno, la fondue no estaba salada (como ocurre algunas veces) así que no nos decepcionó. Recordad si tomais fondue tomarla siempre con vino blanco!

The restaurant was charming, everything made in wood, with a lot of details, some edelweiss flowers dried (a flower very typical from Switzerland), cowbells, and a huge fondue at the entrance. As we went on a sunny day we ate outside, where the tables were not so beautiful. El restaurante tiene mucho encanto, todo hecho en madera, con muchos detalles como algunas "edelweiss" secas sobre un muro (la flor típica de Suiza), cencerros y un gran recipiente para hacer la fondue en la entrada. Como fuimos un día soleado comimos fuera, dónde las mesas no estaban tan cuidadas. El teléfono para reservar es 021 948 0700. Nos vemos la semana que viene!

Ancienne gare, Fribourg

This week we've visited another cool restaurant, Ancienne gare, but this time in Fribourg. A small nice city sorrounded by a river, 45 minutes from Lausanne by car. This restaurant and night club is located in the city center, in a very emblematic building, the old train station. It's a very well designed place. You can enjoy a quiet ambience during the day for a coffee or a brunch (like we did), but during the night it becomes a night club, with cool music, many people, cocktails and beers.

Esta semana hemos visitado otro bar/restaurante, el nombre es Ancienne Gare, y esta vez está en Friburgo. Una pequeña Ciudad, rodeada por un río, a unos 45 minutos de Lausana. Este restaurante y bar está situado en el centro de la Ciudad, en una edificio muy emblemático, la antigua estación de ferrocarriles. Está muy bien diseñado. Y se puede disfrutar de una café o un brunch en un ambiente tranquilo, por la mañana (como nosotros hicimos), pero durante la noche se transforma en un bar de copas, con buena música, mucha gente, cocktails y cervezas.

The brunch it's not expensive, you can choose from a list three things (toasts, fruit, eggs, ...) and you pay 10.- or five things and it's 15.-. Much more cheaper than in Lausanne! We did'nt book for a table but they told us is better to do it, so we were lucky. You can only have brunch on Sunday. During the week they also have a menu for lunch. 

 

El brunch está bien de precio, se eligen varias cosas de una lista (tostadas, fruta, huevos,...) si tomas tres cosas son 10.- y si tomas cinco 15.- Mucho más barato que los bruchs en Lausana!  Nosotros no reservamos mesa, pero nos dijo el camarero que era recomendable hacerlo, así que tuvimos suerte. El día para tomarlo es el domingo, los sábados no lo hacen. Entre semana tienen un menú a la hora de comer.

We love this place, decoration, ambience, also prepared for children (there's a room for them to play) and it's opened on Sunday! :) The food was correct for the price. We'll come back to see a concert and to have a drink at night in this bar! Nos ha encantado este sitio, la decoración, el ambiente, y abierto los domingos! :) Tienen una sala preparada para niños, para que jueguen ahí durante el día. El brunch estuvo bien, acorde con su precio. Tenemos ganas de volver a este bar con encanto a ver un concierto y disfrutar de la sesión nocturna. A la Bossette, Lausanne

Café restaurant A La Bossette, cool music and ambience. We booked a table for 8 people at 9 o'clock. When we arrived the music got a bit louder and few people started dancing. More like a pub than a restaurant.

 
Café restaurant A La Bossette, buena música y ambiente. Reservamos una mesa para 8 el día anterior. Llegamos sobre las nueve con nuestros amigos  y ya había gente bailando. La música estaba algo alta, casi se convertía màs en un pub que en un restaurante.

You can choose something of the menu or one of the dishes of the day, normally there are three. We ordered something of the menu, the pasta with mushrooms; and one of the dishes of the day, the duck with vegetables. The pasta was good, a cream sauce with mushrooms and parmesano, but we prerred the duck with the sauce. The prices were arround 25.-
 

Entre los platos están los del día además de la carta normal. Pedimos uno de cada, del mení la pasta con setas y de entre los platos del día el plato con verduras y arroz. La pasta estaba buena, una salsa de nata con setas y parmesano, aunque nos gustó más el pato. Estaba en su punto, jugosito y con esa salsa era la combinación perfecta. El precio de cada plato estaba entorno a los 25.-
